School is out and Alcorn State University’s Summer Camps present awesome opportunities for all ages to experience, discover and develop their potential. From Ag to STEM, programs are carefully designed to be engaging and fun and many standing favorites will top your can't miss list this summer!

A bridge program designed to help graduating seniors who are interested in STEM related careers matriculate through higher education. (Residential)

JUNE 3 - 14, 2019
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ages 6 - 12

This 2-week day camp exposes local youth to careers and opportunities in the Animal field. Participants enjoy hands-on learning experiences in diverse aspects of Agriculture including animal science, plant and soil science, biotechnology, advanced technologies, health/fitness, environmental science, health science, agriculture business, and more! AgAcademy will accept a maximum of 40 participants. Spaces are limited. The cost is $200 per student.

Ages 8 - 18 (Grades 2 - 12)

This Summer Technology Camp is designed for youth with educational, creative, and recreational activities offered each day. Students will be exposed to cutting-edge topics involving computers, science, math and technology (STEM subjects). It’s a chance to work in small teams, unleash creativity, and develop critical thinking skills while having fun. Students will explore hands-on activities including nuclear & radiation technology, GIS, robotics, digital communication, electronics, and computer technologies. The camp will operate at either the Alcorn State University Lorman Campus or Vicksburg Campus from each day while in session. The cost is $100.00 per student, per camp. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.

Partnering with Community Based Organization from Jefferson County to bring students from Warren, Claiborne, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, and Wilkinson to participate in exercise and healthy and nutritional eating. Parents will have the opportunity to participate in nutritional workshops.

Alcorn State University Ag Olympics logo

Ages 10 - 14

This 1-week day camp marries athletics with the nutrition education that is needed to build strong bones, muscles and internal organs. Jackie Ford and student athletes will do the athletic portion, while Plant and Soil science would show them what plants to grow AND/OR Nutrition and Dietetics will teach them about quick well balanced meals/snacks for proper growth development.
